Games Being Hosted by Jackson Baseball - NICU Classic
Please read the letter below
My name is Garrett Obourn. I am a senior member of NHS at Lake High School. I am also a member of the Lake Varsity Baseball team. Along with teammate and fellow NHS member Nick Miller, we are honored to be organizing this year’s 3rdAnnual Jon Harold NICU Classic for our NHS service project. We are very happy that we have so many teams joining us in this year’s event so that we can make a sizeable donation to the Mercy and Akron Children’s NICU centers.
We would like to provide some information so that you may pass on to your players, parents and fans. We will have a table set up at each site where Lake NHS members will be collecting donations for Mercy and Akron Children’s. Coach Anderson referred to this as a “parking fee.” We will not be soliciting cars in the parking lot, but will simply have a table set up for donations. We also have shirts available for purchase at $10 each. Five dollars from each shirt sold will go directly towards our donation to the NICU centers. They are available in 12 different colors and list the names of all 18 teams that are participating. If you would like to order, please visit this site: https://jonharoldnicuclassic19.itemorder.com . All shirts will be delivered to the GlenOak and Jackson sites on 4/19 so that you may pass out to your teams on game day.
Lastly, we would like to have families impacted by NICU services to throw out the first pitch of each game. If you know of someone connected to your team that would like to do this, please let me know so that we coordinate an introduction prior to each game.
We cannot thank you enough for your time, money and cooperation in making this event a success. We look forward to having a great day of playing ball, but also in working together for such a worthy cause. Please don’t hesitate to contact Coach Anderson or I with any questions you might have.
